Daily Grounding: Start Your Day Off Right In Only 5 Minutes!

BUZZ! Your alarm goes off. Now, you are awake, sluggishly but conscious nonetheless. Time to begin a new day. As you sit up and rub your eyes, you begin to think about all the stuff you have on your plate this day. As mindboggling as it is, you need to get a little "zen" before breakfast. So, time to take some time for you and get your head in a mindful space. If you can spend 5 minutes doing this, you will be starting your day off right and setting yourself up for success. Just 5 minutes, ready...go!



Let's begin!


When your feet hit the floor, spend a few moments getting your bearings. Yawn, stretch, wiggle your fingers and toes. Then, close your eyes. Take a deep breath in through your nose and gently blow it out through your mouth. Then, breathe again, and again. Keep up the rhythm, and feel any tension or worries melt away.


Next, with your feet firmly planted on the floor, place your hand on your base chakra (pelvic region). Feel the energy and see it (red) in your mind's eye swirling clockwise. This is your grounding cord. Now, visualize this cord moving slowly down your legs, past your knees, through your calves, and into your feet. Imagine your feet are roots, like a tree, and your grounding cord is planted into the earth. You can feel your roots spreading out and dropping down into the Mother. You see this cord passing through many of the Earth's layers: dark rich soil, shale, bedrock, crystal caverns, hot lava beds, and finally deep into the belly of the Mother.


Now you see your grounding cord swirling around and around the center of the Mother; the colors are bright, warm, and iridescent. You feel the warmth of the Mother and pull this energy into your grounding cord. Pull it up through the multiple layers of earth. The warm, vibrant energy reaches your feet. They begin to tingle and move through your calves, knees, thighs and finally back into your base chakra. You feel it swirling around and clearing out any negative energy within your base chakra. Take a deep breath and blow it out.


Continue pulling that Mother Earth energy up through your second chakra (belly), your third chakra (diaphragm), your fourth (heart)...feeling the energy swirling and clearing out each of your chakras. Next, pull it up through your fifth (throat) chakra. your sixth (third eye) chakra and finally your seventh (crown) chakra. See the energy of the Mother move above your head and spill down around you...surrounding you with warm, bright loving energy. You breathe deeply again, and you feel calm, relaxed and at peace. You are protected within this bubble of vibrant, yet soothing, energy. You now begin your day feeling confident and ready for anything after just a few minutes of self-care.


Anytime you feel stressed out by your daily life, remember to take a five minute break to breathe and recenter yourself.
